Biography

Ivana Vuković , was born in 1987 in Kragujevac, where she graduated from secondary music school. She completed her basic studies in acting at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad under professor Jasna Đuričić, and her master’s studies under professors Jasna Đuričić and Tomi Janežič.

She performed some of her theater roles in the performances Death Is Not a Bicycle (To Be Stolen from You) by Biljana Srbljanović, directed by Slobodan Unkovski, Yugoslav Drama Theater in 2011; The Seagull A. P. Čekhov, directed by Tomi Janežič, Serbian National Theater in 2012; The Deacon based on the motifs of Isidora Sekulić, directed by Ana Đorđević, SNP in 2013; The Death of Ivan Ilyich by Leo Tolstoy, directed by Tomi Janežič, SNP in 2015; Detroit by Lisa D’Amour, directed by Oleg Novković, Atelje 212 in 2017; and Eldorado by Marius von Mayenburg, directed by Veljko Mićunović, JDP in 2025.

 

During her studies, she made her film debut with the role of Marija in the film Sisters, directed by Vladimir Paskaljević, in 2011, for which she received the Empress Theodora Award for Best Actress at the Film Encounters in Niš in 2011. For the role of Jana in the short film Transition, directed by Milica Tomović, she received the award for Best Actress, the Golden Interpretation, at the Bašta Fest in Bajina Bašta in 2017.

 

She won the Empress Theodora Award for Best Actress at the Niš Film Encounters in 2020 for the role of Kaća in the film My Morning Laughter, directed by Marko Đorđević. In 2022, she received the Heart of Sarajevo Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series for the role of Sonja Kljun in the series Awake, directed by Jelena Gavrilović and Uroš Tomić.

In 2024, she won the Belgrade Victor Award for Best Actress at FEST for the role of Višnja Šarenac in the film That’s It for Today, directed by Marko Đorđević. The same year, for the same role, she was awarded Best Supporting Actress at the Film Encounters in Niš, Best Actress of the festival at Valter Fest in Mladenovac, and Best Actress at the Temerin Film Fest.
