Opening of the 20. Joakimfest

The 20th Joakimfest was officially opened last night.

With the presence of city officials, guests from the theater world, friends of the Princely Serbian Theatre and our dear audience, we opened the jubilee 20th Joakimfest International Theater Festival. The first day of the festival started with the poster exhibition named “D(r)ugih 10”, by Milena Vučković. The exhibition was opened by the artistic director of the Princely Serbian Theatre Đorđe Nešović and it presented the work of designer Milena Vučković, with whom the Theater has been collaborating for ten years on building a visual identity.

20. Joakimfest was officially opened on the Stage “Joakim Vujić” . The importance of the theater festival, which for 20 years has brought new and interesting theater forms to the audience, which is recognized in the country and the region, about the faithful and dedicated audience that keeps this festival going, about Kragujevac as the place where Serbian theater was conceived, was spoken by the member of the City Council for Culture, Mrs. Ana Petrović Jelić, the director of the Princely Serbian Theater Aleksandar Štajn and the writer Miloš Latinović, the curator of the 20th Joakimfest, who officially opened the festival.

On the first evening of the competition program, a performance by a theater troupe from Italy was performed – On the Difficulties in Writing the Truth, based on an essay by Bertolt Brecht, directed by Davide Sacco and Agata Tomšić. After the performance, the audience could attend a round table where Ana Tasić, a theater critic, spoke with the authors.
